Like saving money, time and confusion? Why not purchase our 'Houseplant Repotting Kit' that includes the same handcrafted compost you see here, a plastic pot & saucer, and a complimentary bottle of Baby Bio fertiliser. All in one box with FREE delivery!

This product comprises individually-sourced components to create our quality potting mix. Its sustainable, basal component (coconut coir) is peat-free sourced from a well-established company in southern England that comply with strict production regulations in the U.K.. We then quality check & combine with the suitable ingredients to improve the overall soil structure and replicate the ecological habitats of temperate and tropical climates.

All our products include recyclable packaging/materials, with deliveries made to the local Post Office/Royal Mail Sorting Office or parcel depot via our fully-electric vehicle.
  • Ensure the new pot has drainage holes in its bottom. No matter how good a compost is, you're always running the risk of root rot if water begins to accumulate in the pot's base.
  • Respect the roots. 'Transplant Shock' is a common issue among heavy-handed transplants, so always be delicate and try not to over-touch the roots or pull soil from them. You can always book a 1-1 Video Call with Joe Bagley if you're worried about transplantation.
  • Fill the new pot a fifth-deep with the new potting mix. Sit the plant on top of the mix and fill the gap between the pot and roots. Instead of patting down the compost for support, simply give the plant a thorough soak with water to consolidate its new soil. Wait until the drainage holes finish dripping water before placing it in your decorative pot. Job well done!
Due to the weight difference when containing water, most soil are measured by the volume. Most companies (like ourselves) will go down the route of Litres, with only a few using other methods like the size of their bags/sacks. We use Litres to help the customer visually imagine the amount that they'll receive!
All of our composts come in a resealable bag, so never worry about having a little extra left over. Simply enclose the lid and situate it in a dry, dark area away from pets and children. The soil's freshness will last at least twelve months once opened, so it's great for emergency repotting and top-ups.
Unfortunately, our handcrafted composts are only available to those in the U.K., due to E.U. trading laws on plant-based materials. However, if you are in the U.K., expect free delivery and postage within three days of purchase!
All good potting mixes will  hold a certain volume of water before expelling the excess through the drainage holes. With this in mind, you're most likely going to cause root rot by watering the plant too often instead of the exact amount of water per drink.

Here's an example. It's far better to water the plant 7 Litres in one go per week, instead of 1 Litre per day for the same period of time. The roots won't be able to access the oxygen within the soil if watered too often, which is critical for reducing the development of root rot. One of the best ways to avoid root rot or over-watering is by allowing the soil to slightly dry in between drinks; you can check the soil's moisture levels by either touching the top few inches of the potting mix, or by feeling the weight of the potted plant. (If it's light weight, it means the plant needs a drink!).

We'll send you a confirmation email with the purchase's receipt, along with a Step-by-Step Guide on repotting your plant. You can then refer to the guide once your compost arrives! 😊
